We do not have anywhere near the number that you require but I might suggest that you try:

Great Event Co.
Mill Lane
Rickinghall.

Tel: 01379 890222

We used them some years ago when we held a Band Concert on our Village Green.

Give them a ring!

Thank you for your e-mail via our website.

The conditions of the photographic competition are very simple. All you have to do is to submit (electronically) any photo of the village or the surrounding area to our Newsletter Editor, John Sewell (bigjohnsewell@hotmail.com). A winner is selected for publication in each of our bi-monthly Newsletters and the overall winner for the year receives a trophy. In addition, it is intended to produce a calender for 2013, using the best photographs. Obviously, it is preferable if the pictures and/or subjects depicted the months of the year.

I hope you enjoy your stay in our village and I look forward to seeing your entries.

Best regards,

I'm coming to stay at the caravan site at Stanwell farm late July for a few days. As a keen photographer I wondered if I could have details of your request for village photographs for your 2013 calendar.
Many Thanks

My people evidently are from your lovely town...roots-wise...back around 1490. The Pittmans..Pytmans, Peetmans. I undersand this is of little concern to you and expect you to spend little time contemplating it. IF you took paypal, I would certainly pay for a couple of rounds at the "pub gathering of historians" thgough. Just to say I did it.

Cheers!

Paula,

You are another correspondent to whom I must apologise for the delay in replying. If you read my other replies you will see that this site has been besieged by literally hundreds of spam type comments and your enquiry became buried in them!

I am quite surprised that you have been unable to get anymore information about Robert Percy, as the fact that he was a Freehold Farmer in the village is quite unusual. Most of the farmers in the area were tennant farmers to the major landlords (the Frere family, at that time). 10 acres is a reasonable size of a holding and, as Finningham is quite a small village, it is quite possible that the land is still being used for agricultural purposes. A majority of the land around the village is farmed by one or two families so, I may be able to glean some information from them.

I'm not at home at the moment but will start my research into your enquiry on my return (in 2 week's time).
